Fashion Industry Donates Medical Masks And Clothing

JAKARTA - Several fashion industry players are collaborating with the local government to meet medical needs. Quoted from Reuters, retail company H&M will start producing personal protective equipment for hospitals in the European Union.

Inditex, the company that houses the ZARA brand, has also done something similar, by offering the manufacture of masks, headgear, gloves and eye protection for medical purposes. In addition, Inditex also offers their extensive logistics and distributor network to cover the needs of Spain and Italy.

From the high fashion industry, American designer Prabal Gurung uploaded on Instagram an announcement about the production of personal protective equipment. His fashion house is now working with the New York Governor's Office and local hospitals to meet medical needs.

"The PG team is currently working non-stop for the past week, to finalize the production plan for personal protective equipment for medical workers as the foremost fighters of COVID-19," wrote Prabal Gurung in his upload on Instagram.

There is also an apron hedley & bennet fashion house which campaigns for "Wake Up And Fight Mask" by selling face masks in collaboration with the Chief of Staff of the California Medical Center Dr. Robert Cho, whose sales proceeds will be donated to medical personnel there.
