The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Frees The Conversion Of 500 Motorcycle Units. Here Are The Conditions!
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) provides an opportunity for the public to convert fuel oil motorcycles (BBM) into electric motorcycles for free.
This program can be followed by the general public who live in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas, and is carried out in stages, starting August 1, 2024.
"The free conversion program will be carried out in stages, where the Free Phase 1 Conversion will start on August 1, 2024 until the quota is met, which is 500 motorbikes," said Head of the Bureau of the Ministry of Communication, Public Information and Cooperation Service (KLIK) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Agus Cahyono Adi, Friday, August 2.
Agus said the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources would cover the cost of converting motorbikes of Rp. 16 million per unit. This fee does not include physical check fees, vehicle registration fees, and vehicle reconditioning costs outside of conversion work.
"So what will be free of charge is the cost of converting motorbikes of Rp. 16 million per unit," he explained.
This free conversion activity, said Agus, was carried out in collaboration and support of mining sector business entities under the technical guidance of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, as a form of concern for the conversion program in the form of providing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.
"As a form of concern, mining business entities under the technical guidance of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources express support for this Conversion Program in the form of providing CSR funds for the general public who live in Jabodetabek," said Agus.
For people who are interested, they can register through the digital platform of the Electric Motorcycle Conversion Program on the ebtke.esdm.go.id/conversion link or direct list through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Partner Conversion Workshop.
The general requirements for participating in free conversion are as follows:
1. The general public who own motorbikes and live in accordance with the KTP in the Jabodetabek area (privileged for vehicle owners who are actively driving in and out of the DKI Jakarta province); 2. The name listed on the KTP must be the same as the name stated in the vehicle registration certificate (STNK and BPKB); 3. The ownership certificate is complete and has paid off vehicle taxes; and 4. Attach the document/formulation of the initial physical check results from the Samsat of the nearest Police.
