Over 66 Kids Apps Containing Malware Found On Google Play Store

JAKARTA - We can still find applications that contain malware on the Google Play Store. Several months ago, security firm Check Point discovered the Joker malware threat and most recently Haken clickers, hiding from Google's defenses through the use of real Android code.

Launching Ars Technica, Wednesday, March 25, however, currently, the security company has also found a type of malware like Haken clickers, namely Tekya, which uses native code to sneak into the security of the online shop.

“I truly believe that this demonstrates the ability of bad actors to adapt and overcome current barriers to reaching a wider audience by infiltrating Google Play and overcoming Google's analytical process. The two combined malware families (Haken and Tekya) demonstrate Google Play's ability to protect against detecting native code malware, "said company representative for Check Point, Aviran Hazum.

Currently, Android users have been warned that more than 66 apps are using this native coded trick to beat the Google Play Store security filtering system. Some of these applications have also been installed more than a million times. And what's worse is that there are 26 apps that are targeted at kids, like racing games and puzzle games, even chef games.

It is known, more than 66 applications are designed to commit ad fraud such as displaying fake clicks that can sacrifice the original advertiser. According to Check Point, these 66 apps alone have the potential to generate millions of dollars. Such means are appropriate for tricking users into simply accessing advertisements and banners from agencies such as Google AdMob, AppLovin, Facebook and Unity. To make cyber criminals harder to detect, apps are written in native Android code.

Seeing this, Check Point immediately sent a report to the technology giant. And don't have to wait long, many applications that contain malware are removed by Google. The rest were withdrawn by cyber criminals themselves upon becoming aware of Check Point's actions.

Until this news was revealed, Google has not responded to this, but it has confirmed that all malicious applications have been removed from the Play Store. What are the applications? Next VOI inform and don't forget to immediately remove if it is already installed on your cell phone.
