The Ministry Of PUPR Calls There Will Be Groundbreaking At IKN Mid-August

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that the next groundbreaking activity will be carried out in mid-August 2024 in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

"If the groundbreaking is later, hopefully in the next period the president will come. Hopefully in mid-August there will be groundbreaking there," said PUPR Ministry Spokesperson Endra S Atmawidjaja to reporters, quoted Thursday, August 1.

Endra hopes that the groundbreaking can be carried out before the Indonesian Independence Anniversary Ceremony at IKN on August 17.

"Hopefully, before the RI Anniversary Ceremony, we will schedule whether the President (Jokowi) is willing or not, but in terms of investor readiness," he said.

According to him, the possibility of the groundbreaking planned for mid-August at IKN is still from domestic investors.

"Still from within the country, we prioritize domestic ones first," he said.

Previously, OIKN Deputy for Funding and Investment Agung Wicaksono said, there were nine companies ready to invest in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN). The investment value reached IDR 45 trillion.

Not only from Indonesia, Agung said the nine companies included the company from three foreign countries, such as Malaysia, China to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Even so, Agung has not specified how many companies from the three countries.

"So, not only conveying interest in commitment, but we have given orders to proceed to the (stage) feasibility study (FS). There are nine companies," Agung said when met by reporters at the DPR RI Complex, Jakarta, Monday, June 10.

In addition, Agung said, currently the investment that has entered IKN has reached IDR 51.3 trillion.
