Rizieq Shihab Keeps Requesting Offline Session Promises To Ask Supporters Not To Come To East Jakarta District Court
JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab through his lawyer Munarman promised to urge his supporters not to come to the East Jakarta District Court to witness the trial. Provided, the panel of judges granted his request to hold an offline or face-to-face trial.
"From the start it has been stated that if that is what the crowd is afraid of, HRS is willing to issue an appeal. That is clear," Munarman told reporters, Tuesday, March 23.
But if the request to hold a face-to-face trial is not granted, then even Rizieq Shihab will not appeal to his supporters.
Munarman said whether the appeal was made or not depends on the decision of the panel of judges.
"Yes, the trial doesn't know whether we are offline or not. If it is certain that we are offline, then the appeal will come out of Habib Rizieq. That's about his position," he said.
For information, supporters of Rizieq Shihab always come to the East Jakarta District Court to witness the trial process firsthand. Even though they had been informed that the trial was going online, they still came.
The presence of Rizieq Shihab's supporters is considered to have only raised a crowd. So, there is the potential for the spread of COVID-19.
