Petronas Indonesia Produces 25,000 BOEPDs Throughout The Second Quarter Of This Year
JAKARTA - Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) Petronas Indonesia reported that from all managed WKs, Petronas Indonesia recorded an oil and gas production rate of 25,000 BOEPD.
Vice President of Production Operations Petronas Indonesia Wimbuh Nawa Nugroho said that his party is committed to supporting Indonesia's energy security through the development and improvement of oil and gas production in various Working Areas (WK), especially in WK Ketapang and WK North Madura II.
The commitment was realized by extending the profit-sharing contract for WK Ketapang in North Madura Island. With this extension, Petronas can continue to operate until 2048, besides that recently, Petronas has also signed a profit-sharing contract for WK Bobara, off the coast of West Papua, as well as being a working partner of five other profit-sharing contracts located off the coasts of Sumatra, Natuna Sea, East Java, and East Indonesia," he said, Wednesday, July 31.
Wimbuh added that the signing of the profit-sharing contract for WK Bobara was an important milestone for Petronas Indonesia in its business expansion to Eastern Indonesia, following the signing of a profit-sharing contract for WK Masela which is located in the waters of the Arafura Sea in 2023.
Currently, he said, Petronas Indonesia is focusing on developing the Hidayah Field located in the North Madura II Working Area.
"We hope that the Hidayah development phase can run according to schedule, namely onstream in 2027, with an estimated production of 19,000 BOPD," said Wimbuh.
Head of the SKK Migas Communication Department, Nyimas F. Rikani, appreciated the important achievements that have been achieved by Petronas Indonesia in the national oil and gas industry.
With the extension of the profit-sharing contract for WK Ketapang, he hopes that Petronas Indonesia can continue to ensure the continuity of the energy production needed by the community.
"Since the first production in this WK in 2015, Petronas has become one of the main contributors in meeting energy demand in East Java," he said.

According to Nyimas, as one of the largest gas producers in eastern Java, SKK Migas continues to encourage Petronas Indonesia to be more active in developing and searching for new reserves to meet gas demand from consumers from West Java.
"We all know that currently natural gas production in East Java cannot be fully absorbed, so we hope that when the Cirebon-Semarang gas pipeline construction has been completed, Petronas Indonesia can take part in fulfilling gas needs in the West Indonesia region," concluded Nyimas.
