Pegadaian Prepares IDR 2.5 Million Loans Without Interest For MSME Business Capital

JAKARTA - PT Pegadaian launched a interest-free pawn program for a maximum loan of up to IDR 2.5 million. The program targets micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and also students.

The program is called Gadai Peduli. During the period from August 1 to September 30, 2024, MSMEs and students can apply for interest-free loans.

"In August, we have Gadai Peduli which is free of interest of up to Rp. 2.5 million. We can give it to the public, let's go to Pegadaian," said President Director of Pegadaian Damar Latri Setiawan during a press conference, at The Gade Tower Jakarta, Tuesday, July 30.

Meanwhile, the Marketing and Product Development Director of PT Pegadaian, Elvi Rofiqotul Hidayah said the value of the loan that could be submitted starts from IDR 50,000 to IDR 2.5 million.

"The segment is that we hope that people who need financing, especially for pawning, loans up to Rp. 2.5 million. Especially to provide convenience to post-covid MSMEs who still experience obstacles," said Elvi.

Elvi said the loan was intended as a small business capital for MSME players. Through this program, it is hoped that it will make it easier for MSME players to access capital to develop their business.

In addition to MSME players, Elvi said that the Gadai Peduli program is also aimed at student capital that gets entrepreneurial project assignments.

"For example, for cooking working capital, cilor, maybe fried rice food, I can use IDR 2.5 million. Then the second segment of students with an independent package are asked to do entrepreneurship. This can be capital for students to become entrepreneurs with creativity," said Elvi.

Furthermore, Elvi explained that the term of the loan tenor offered in the Gadai Peduli program is only two months. However, Pegadaian believes customers can repay the loan on time.

"What's the value starting? Starting from Rp. 50,000 to Rp. 2.5 million free for 60 days. Of course, if he sells 60 days, I'm sure he can repay the loan," he said.
