Indodax Deposits IDR 350 Billion Crypto Tax, Contributes 45 Percent To State Revenue

JAKARTA - Indodax has submitted a crypto tax of IDR 350 billion. This amount has a contribution of 45 percent to state revenues from this tax sector.

"Of the total crypto tax that reached Rp798.84 billion, Indodax contributed around 45 percent or almost Rp350 billion," said Indodax CEO Oscar Darmawan quoting Antara.

He added that Indodax's compliance in depositing taxes shows that the crypto sector can operate transparently and support national development in a sustainable manner.

Although tax regulations in the crypto industry are still often discussed, he continued, Indodax remains committed to complying with all existing regulations.

"This tax deposit is a concrete form of our support for the government's efforts to advance the nation and improve the welfare of the community," he said.

In addition to crypto tax payments, Oscar said the company had also deposited a corporate tax of IDR 234 billion.

In addition, the company currently leads the largest volume of crypto trading in Indonesia, with a total of 15 million US dollars.

Oscar sees that the opportunities for the crypto industry in Indonesia in the future will grow and be able to make a higher contribution to domestic economic development.

"The amount of tax generated by the crypto industry, as well as the large volume of trade, reflects the huge potential of this sector in supporting the country's economic growth," said Oscar.

Previously, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance reported that the crypto industry contributed taxes from digital economic business activities amounting to Rp798.84 billion as of June 2024.

This figure consists of Rp376.13 billion from the Income Tax (PPh) 22 on crypto sales transactions on exchangers and Rp422.71 billion from the results of the Domestic Value Added Tax (VAT) (DN) on crypto purchase transactions on exchangers.
