Update On COVID-19 As Of March 22: Number Of Recovered Cases More Than New Positive Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 43.755 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5.744 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1.465.928 people and 128.260 active cases", data quoted from the Ministry of Health, Monday, March 22.

Recovered cases today increased by 7.177 cases so that a total of 1.297.967 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 161 people and the total was 39.711 people.

The province with the newest cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1.474 cases and a total of 372.056 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1.253 new cases with a total of 241.204 cases. Central Java has 741 new cases and a total of 165.133 cases. Then, Banten has 440 new cases and a total of 35.040 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 1.739 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 1.714 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 1.053 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an additional 413 recovered cases.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases as of today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were West Kalimantan and Southeast Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 12.099.467.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 20.13 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 41.674 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, there are 5.567.280 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 2.312.601 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40.349.051 people.
