Target 1,000 Foreigners To Get Golden Visa, Director General Of Immigration Expects Investment Withdraw
JAKARTA - Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Silmy Karim targets as many as 1,000 foreign nationals or foreigners to receive Golden Visa by the end of 2024.
Golden Visa is a type of visa granted as the basis for granting residence permits within a period of 5-10 years.
"We hope that this year 1,000 foreigners can get Golden Visa," Silmy told reporters at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday, July 25.
Silmy said the Golden Visa was targeted for several types of investment sectors. Several world figures have previously also been granted this special visa.
"Currently there are still various things because there is Global Talent too. Global Talent is the first founder of chatGPT, it's in the IT sector, then Shin Tae Yong was in terms of sports," he said.
In addition to this target, Silmy said that his party would also intensify socialization to several priority countries. Starting from Singapore, China, to the United States.
In addition to investment or investment, the Golden Visa category can also be given to figures who have an international reputation and can provide benefits for Indonesia. In obtaining the Golden Visa, it must be proposed by the central government agency.
Golden Visa holders can enjoy various benefits, such as inspection routes and priority services provided at the airport. They can also have a longer stay of up to 10 years. Getting out and entering Indonesia is also easier and efficient because there is no need to apply for a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) to the immigration office.
