Toyota Presents The Latest 1Connect System, Facilitate Access To Various Sophisticated Features

TANGERANG - To facilitate customer needs, PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) officially launched an upgrade to telematic technology that can enrich its daily lifestyle in terms of mobility.

This technology called 1Connect is a connectivity system that connects vehicles through the internet network, providing customers with access to various innovative features.

"The 1Connect system is a seamless total connectivity concept, both from Out-of-Car Connectivity and In-Car Connectivity, through the capabilities of a wider new generation of telematics devices," said PT TAM Marketing Director, Anton Jimmi Suwandi, through an official statement.

Customers can take advantage of this advanced technology in two categories: Out-of-Car Connectivity which can be accessed via T Intouch on the mToyota application, as well as In-Car Connectivity which can be reached through Connected Head Unit and Connected Rear Seat Entertainment in vehicles.

Features on Out-of-Car Connectivity are improved so that customers can activate Remote Immobilizer through the mToyota application if the vehicle is lost or stolen. When this feature is active after being verified by the Customer Care Telematics, the car will be automatically disabled at the next starter, so it cannot be turned on.

The In-Car Connectivity feature is also improved, allowing customers to contact the Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA) service through the head of the unit in the car if they experience an emergency situation such as a strike or accident. After the customer presses a special button in the head unit, the system will connect with the Toyota Concierge Service which will deliver the ERA service.

In addition, the available Wifi Hotspots can be accessed by Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) for rear passengers, enabling access to entertainment and productivity features. Passengers can enjoy multimedia services from third parties on Toyota cars, such as streaming music and the latest films.

Toyota plans to develop the concept of the In-Car Wi-Fi Hotspot feature in several lines of its cars gradually until 2025, so that vehicles can emit internet networks.
