Foreign Investment Enters Indonesia Reaches IDR 2 Trillion From 300 Golden Visa Recipients

JAKARTA - Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Silmy Karim said, as many as 300 Golden Visa recipients had brought investment worth IDR 2 trillion to Indonesia.

"At this time we are ready in a system manner, even in the trial period there were almost 300 foreign nationals that we gave Golden Visa. Of the 300 who have received visas, it is an investment that has entered IDR 2 trillion," said Silmy when met by reporters at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday, July 25.

Silmy explained that his party will conduct massive socialization to several trading room organizations, both from the United States, China, Japan, Korea, as well as Kadin and Hipmi partners who may need Golden Visa.

He added that as many as 10 countries with the largest investment in Indonesia will be the main targets to register for Golden Visa. These countries are Singapore, Japan, China, Korea, the Netherlands, the United States, Britain, France, Germany and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to him, Golden Visa's investment opportunities include downstream industries, plantations and other derivative industries, in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). In addition, investment opportunities that may be driven by President-elect Prabowo Subianto are the food and energy sector.

Apart from investors, Silmy also stated that global or global talent can get Golden Visa. An example is OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and national football team coach Shin Tae Yong.

"Currently, the profile is not very visible because we hope that this year 1,000 foreign nationals (WNA) can get Golden Visa," said Silmy.
