Central Java Gubernatorial Election Survey: Andika Perkasa And Witjaksono Are The Most Superior Cagub-Cawagub

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Election Study Institute (LKPI) conducted a survey regarding the preferences of the people of Central Java to measure the electability of the prospective Governor Candidates (cagub) and the 2024 vice governor candidate (cawagub).

As a result, Andika Perkasa and Witjaksono became the most superior cagubs among other names with the potential to run for the Central Java Pilkada.

"In the simulation test of the 5 names of candidate governors who were offered to respondents to be elected governor, if the governor election is held today, Andika Perkasa will get 34.7 percent support," said LKPI Executive Director, Togu Lubis in his statement, Wednesday, July 24.

"Followed by Kaesang Pangarep 18.3 percent, Ahmad Luthfi 13.1 percent, Hendrar Prihadi 10.6 percent and Taj Yasin 9.1 percent. While not choosing 14.2 percent," he continued.

Togu said that the dynamics of the Central Java gubernatorial election were also recently also surprised by the emergence of young figures to side by side with big figures. Like the name of the Regent Knows, Dico Ganinduto and a businessman from Pati, Witjaksono.

"Towards the 2024 Central Java gubernatorial election, his name emerged as a strong candidate for Deputy Governor (Cawagub) of Central Java (Central Java). This can be seen from the results of the survey presentations that we conducted," said Togu.

"When the simulation test was carried out, 5 names would be Cawagub, and 29.4 percent were offered to respondents to be selected. As a result, Witjaksono was chosen the highest at 33.1 percent, then Kaesang Pangarep, 29.4 percent, Sri Mulyani 10.6 percent, Yusuf Chudlori 7.1 percent, Dico Ganinduto 5.2 percent, and did not vote 14.6 percent," he continued.

In the simulation by handing 9 names to respondents, continued Togu, the name Witjaksono, who serves as General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama Fishermen's Union (SNNU), was still at the top with 28.2 percent.

Followed by Taj Yasin Maimoen 18.5 percent, Sri Mulyani 10.3 percent, Kaesang Pangarep 7.4 percent, Heru Sudjarmoko 6.3 percent, Yusuf Chudlori 5.7 percent, Dico Ganinduto 5.2 percent, Achmad Husein 3.2 percent, Raffi Ahmad 1.3 percent, and did not vote 13.9 percent.

"In the simulation of 3 pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor. Andika Perkasa, who is paired with Witjaksono, is superior with an election rate of 39.7 percent," explained Togu.

"Followed by the second place, the pair Kaesang Pangarep-M Yusuf Chudlori with 28.3 percent, the third Ahmad Lutfi-Taj Yasin with 16.2 percent of the electability rate, and did not choose 15.8 percent," he concluded.

The LKPI survey was held on July 9-19, 2024 in Central Java Province. Involving 1,680 respondents with criteria aged 17 years and over or married.

The respondents who were chosen by the simple random sampling method were interviewed face-to-face. The survey margin of error was recorded at +/- 2.39 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
