Schedule For The First Day Of Indonesian Badminton At The 2024 Olympics

JAKARTA The schedule for the first day of the 2024 Paris Olympics badminton (sports) has been officially released. Nine Indonesian representatives will also play.

Badminton will start the group stage on Saturday, July 27, 2024, the day after the opening ceremony.

The men's singles sector, two Indonesian representatives, namely Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, both got easy opponents on the first day.

Jonathan, who fills Group L along with three other singles, will start the journey against Belgian representative Julien Carraggi.

The pair appeared in Paris after winning an appeal at the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS) over the mistakes made by BWF in calculating Road to Olympic points.

An easy opponent will also face the women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung on the first day. The 2017 junior world champion will meet the Ukrainian singles, Polina Buhrova.

Meanwhile, the tough start will be faced by women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti. The pair will meet the first seed from China, Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan.

Previously, the two couples had met seven times. Of the number of clashes, Apri/Fadia only won once at the Malaysia Open 2022.

Another Indonesian representative is Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari from mixed doubles. They also got a tough test at the beginning because they met the number eight in the world from South Korea, Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-eun.
