Having No Severe Illness History, Family Says Hamzah Haz Dies When He Wants To Pray Dhuha
JAKARTA - The 4th son of the 9th Vice President Hamzah Haz, Nur Agus Haz, revealed that his father did not die while he was ill because he had previously communicated normally with him.
He explained that Hamzah Haz died in his bedroom. His father died after waking up from sleep and going to perform Dhuha prayers in the morning.
"I talked with him last night, there was no illness at all," said Agus Haz when met after the ceremony for handing over the body to the government, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, July 24.
So far, according to him, Hamzah Haz is often controlled by doctors from the presidency. He said Hamzah Haz did not have a serious illness, but just an ordinary stomach ailment.
Apart from that, according to him, there were two plans regarding Hamzah Haz's burial, either at the Heroes' Cemetery (TMP) Kalibata Jakarta or at the family grave in Cisarua, Bogor. However, in the end the family agreed that the late Hamzah Haz was buried in Bogor.
"Finally, we decided personally, we will follow our father's will," said the fourth son of 12 children.
The body of this national figure was taken to the cemetery using a hearse from the TNI I/Jakarta Permanent Garrison Command (Kogartap) at 14.30 WIB from the funeral home. The family and relatives of the deceased also accompanied the journey to the burial location.
Previously, President Joko Widodo also visited the funeral home with the Vice President Elect for the 2024 Election, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and also the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
Apart from Jokowi, other national figures have arrived at the funeral home, including the 6th Vice President Try Sutrisno, the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla, and the 11th Vice President Budiono.
Then a number of politicians were also present, including PPP Chairman Mardiono, Hanura Party Chairman Oesman Sapta Odang, and Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI Rahmat Gobel. Meanwhile, the 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri was unable to attend and was represented by Ahmad Basarah as a cadre from the PDI Perjuangan.
