On display at GIIAS, Honda showcases an electric mobile cafe using the Honda N-Van EV model

JAKARTA - PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has never stopped showing the latest innovations at the 2024 Gaikindo International Auto Show (GIIAS) by introducing Honda's first electric mobile cafe in the world.

This innovation was realized through a modification of the Honda N-VAN EV Prototype model into a cafe called the Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile. The introduction of the Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile is part of Honda's efforts to conduct studies and socialize the use of electric cars in Indonesia.

Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile is a collaboration between Honda and Karoseri V-Class, as a manufacturing company for commercial cars. Meanwhile, the drinks and food served by Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile during the GIIAS 2024 event were provided by Dua Coffee, as one of the leading local coffee brands.

"Honda is always committed to educating technology innovations, as well as getting closer to customers," said PT HPM's PR & Event Head, Yessy Anastasia, at the Honda booth, at the GIIAS event, Tuesday, July 24.

To realize this concept, Honda uses the Honda N-VAN EV Prototype electric car, which was developed from the Honda N-VAN commercial car which has been successfully marketed in Japan as a business commercial car.

This car has been specially modified by the V-Clas carousel, a company engaged in the manufacturing of car bodies, in particular for the manufacture of commercial car bodies. On the exterior, modifications are made on the roof with additional canopy, lights for lighting of outdoor areas of cars, chairs and portable tables, stickers dominated by red and black colors as representations of Dreams Cafe, as well as supporting elements such as glass icons, coffee beans, and electric cables that symbolize the pairing of electric mobile cafes.

Entering the interior area, this car is modified into a kitchen area complete with a water engine and a drink cooler, food storage space and areas for other equipment. With all the modifications to this car, the Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile is ready to serve customers efficiently in various strategic locations such as Car Free Day, city parks, community events, and other events.

All electrical power used during the Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile operation will be supported by Honda Power Exporter e: 6000. This tool is a portable external power output device that can convert car battery power into alternating Current (AC) electricity so that it can be used as a resource for the electronics used.

"We V-Class Karoseri, are proud to collaborate with Honda in realizing the Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile. We modified this Honda electric car into a mobile cafe. With our experience in modifying commercial cars, combined with Honda's innovative vision, which eventually resulted in a functional and aesthetic automotive art work," said Director of Karoseri V-Class Zain Johansyah.

Honda also collaborated with Dua Coffee to provide all available menus at the Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile during the GIIAS 2024 event. Previously, Honda had also collaborated with Dua Coffee at the Honda Dreams Cafe outlet operating in Jakarta from 2021 to 2023.

Especially for the Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile, there are two special menus called E-Latte-Fy and Eco-spresso taken from the word 'electrify' and eco which symbolizes an environmentally friendly electric car.

Previously, in 2023, Honda had introduced Honda e as the first step in studying the use of electric cars within the University of Indonesia. This model is also used for education about electric cars in urban areas, with tourism activities to historical places in Jakarta with the Jakarta Good Guide. In addition to Honda e, Honda also tested the Honda N-Van EV Prototype in collaboration with Pertamina to study the use of electric cars as a logistics delivery tool in Jakarta and its surroundings.
