Semester 1 2024, Nusantara Tourist Visit To East Kalimantan Reaches 3.26 Million People
The number of domestic tourist visits to East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) in the first semester of 2024 was 3.26 million people or 47.3 percent of the target by the end of 2024 which was 6,900,000 domestic tourists.
"Although the achievement in the first semester is not even 50 percent, we are optimistic that by the end of 2024 it can be achieved 100 percent, because there are still many tourism agendas in East Kalimantan," said Head of Marketing at the East Kalimantan Tourism Office, Restiawan Baihaqi, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 23.
A number of agendas that will absorb many domestic tourists in East Kalimantan include on July 25-30 having three agendas at once, such as the East Borneo International Folklore Festival (EBIFF) which was held by his party in Samarinda.
Apart from EBIFF, in this month there are also two other agendas, namely the East Kalimantan Expo 2024 which is also on July 25-30, there is also the East Kalimantan Travel Fair (KTF) which will take place on July 25-28.
In these three tourism agendas, they are not only able to attract visitors and participants from local East Kalimantan and from various regions in Indonesia, but also participants from abroad.
In addition, throughout August to December there were also many other agendas, both held by the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and districts/cities, both nationally and regionally scaled and ethnically attractive, so it is believed to be able to attract visitors outside the region, including the August 17 ceremony in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).

Another thing that supports the number of visits, among others, is the opening of air transportation connectivity in East Kalimantan, because the aviation industry continues to adjust the demand for several new domestic flight routes, along with the opening of business opportunities in East Kalimantan.
"Meanwhile, the details of the number of domestic tourist visits to East Kalimantan as many as 3,263,811 people in the first semester of 2024 are 425,164 people in January, 376,256 people in February, 339,300 people in March, 745,185 in April, 621,228 in May, and 756,678 in June," he said.
