Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi: Maintaining Trust Is The Key To Reconciliation Of Palestinian Factions
JAKARTA - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said maintaining trust was key to reconciliation of Palestinian factions, saying his country had the same direction and purpose regarding reconciliation with most Arab and Islamic countries.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at the time of closing the Palestinian faction reconciliation meeting on Tuesday, witnessing the signing of the Beijing Declaration, in which 14 factions present agreed to end the split and strengthen unity.
"The key to the internal reconciliation process for Palestinian factions is to maintain strong trust, understand direction and step by step," he explained, launching Xinhua July 23.
The most significant highlight is the agreement to form a temporary national reconciliation government focused on the postwar government of Gaza, as well as the strongest call for the formation of a truly independent Palestinian state in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions, Foreign Minister Wang said.
This reconciliation meeting was held on July 21-23 in Beijing. This was attended by high-level representatives of each faction, including from Hamas and Fatah, the two largest Palestinian factions who also signed Tuesday's declaration.

Foreign Minister Wang underlined that reconciliation is an internal matter for all Palestinian factions, but it cannot be achieved without the support of the international community.
"In an effort to encourage reconciliation, China has the same direction and goals as most Arab and Islamic countries," said Foreign Minister Wang.
