KPK Will Study MAKI Data Related To Alleged Corruption In Land Acquisition In DKI Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that it has received data from the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) regarding allegations of corruption in land acquisition in DKI Jakarta.

Furthermore, this data will be studied further in an effort to investigate the corruption case that has dragged BUMD officials.

"It is true, we have received the data in question and we will study it further," said Acting KPK spokesperson for prosecution Ali Fikri in a written statement quoted on Monday, March 22.

The KPK, he continued, would like to thank the community for the participation of the community in the efforts to supervise and oversee this investigation process. Ali also guaranteed that the investigation into this corruption case would be carried out in accordance with the applicable legal regulations.

"We affirm that all developments from the handling of this case will always be informed to the public as a form of openness by the KPK," he said.

As previously reported, the Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI), Boyamin Saiman handed over a copy of the Building Use Right (HGB) certificate for land in Munjul, Pondok Ranggon, Cipayung, East Jakarta to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This submission is related to a corruption case that is being investigated by the anti-graft agency.

Through his written statement, Boyamin said the handover was carried out through online means, namely via the short message application, namely WhatsApp on Friday, March 19 yesterday.

"We hereby convey a copy of the Right to Use Building Land in Munjul, Pondok Ranggon Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta, which is currently investigating the alleged corruption in the purchase of the land by the DKI Jakarta BUMD, the Sarana Jaya Regional Company," Boyamin told reporters.

He then explained that the land had an HGB certificate numbered 97-99 which was issued by the East Jakarta Branch of the National Land Agency (BPN) in 2021. The entire certificate was registered under the name of the Carolus Borromeus Congregation Foundation with a total area of 4 hectares.

As for the alleged corruption case, although it has not been announced, based on a witness' summons, in this case there are four suspects who have been named by the KPK. The first suspect is the Director of the Regional Public Company Pembangunan Sarana Jaya, Yoory Corneles, who has now been retired from his position.

Apart from that, the KPK also named two private parties, Anja Runtuwene, and Tommy Ardian as suspects. Not only that, the anti-graft commission also established a corporation, namely PT Adonara Propertindo.
