Excellent In The Young Voters Candidate Survey, Anies Left Ganjar, Kang Emil To Prabowo
JAKARTA - Three governors have the highest electability in the presidential candidate survey (candidates) in the 2024 presidential election with young voters.
This picture is captured in the Indonesian Political Indicators survey. The three governors with the highest electability are DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil. In fact, their election was able to overtake Prabowo Subianto, as a former presidential candidate to compete with Jokowi in the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections.
There were 1,200 Indonesian citizen respondents aged 17 to 21 years who were interviewed on March 4-10, 2021. It could be said that they are first-time voters. The tolerance for error (margin of error) is around 2.9 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
The Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, explained that Anies was in the highest rank in the presidential candidate survey with the acquisition of 1.52 percent.
While Ganjar was chosen by 13.7 percent of respondents. Ridwan Kamil was chosen by 10.2 percent of the respondents. Following this, Sandiaga Uno was chosen 9.8 percent. Then in fifth place, Prabowo was chosen as many as 9.5 percent of respondents.
"The highest name is Anies Baswedan, then Ganjar. The difference is insignificant. Ridwan Kamil follows," said Burhanuddin in a survey entitled "National Survey of Youth Voices on National Socio-Political Issues", Sunday, March 21.
Burhanuddin explained that Anies' votes came mostly from Prabowo-Sandi voters in the 2019 Presidential Election. Meanwhile, if seen from the ethnicity and voting age, Anies received an average of 12 percent of the votes of the Javanese ethnic group.
"He received support among those who voted for Prabowo-Sandi in 2019 yesterday. Anies was quite good at getting 12.2 percent of Javanese youth," he explained.
Social media has a roleSocial media has a big role to play in increasing the electability of figures who want to gain votes from young voters. The three governors with the highest electability in the survey prove this.
In serving the leadership in their respective provinces, Anies, Ganjar, and Ridwan Kamil actively interact on their personal social media such as Instagram and Twitter. It is not uncommon for them to personally reply to netizen comments.
"We know that young people or millennials have a habit of actively interacting on social media. Anies, Ganjar and Ridwan Kamil are among the figures who take advantage of the habits of young people," said a political observer from Al-Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin to VOI.
According to Ujang, Prabowo did not strategically use social media to show his teeth to the younger generation. In fact, Prabowo can socialize evidence of his work on social media. because he has a position in the government as Minister of Defense.
"Prabowo is not very good at social media. He has not shown his policies at the Ministry of Defense to support young Indonesians through social media," said Ujang.
