Minister Of Manpower Ida Fauziyah Officially Launches Roadmap For Indonesia Free For Advanced Children Worker
JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah officially launched a Roadmap for Indonesia Free for Advanced Child Workers (phase II) following the end of the 2022 Child Workers Free Indonesia roadmap (phase I).
Ida also invited parents together with local governments/governments and businesses as well as trade unions to continue to synergize and innovate as a form of commitment to abolish child labor in Indonesia.
"Tomorrow, July 23, we celebrate National Children's Day, let's give the most beautiful gifts to Indonesian children by committing together through this continued roadmap," said Ida Fauziyah in an official statement, in Jakarta, Monday, July 23.
Based on BPS data in 2023, continued Ida, Ida said the number of child workers aged 5 to 17 years was 1.01 million people. This number tends to stagnate when compared to 2022, which amounts to around 1.01 million people.
"This figure is not a small number, because it requires a joint commitment to overcome it," said Ida.
Ida said the Ministry of Manpower would not stop dealing with child labor in order to realize Indonesia Gold in 2045. One of the Ministry of Manpower's efforts was the withdrawal of child labor from work from 2008 to 2020 as many as 143,456 children.
To remove child labor in Indonesia, the Ministry of Manpower continues to take various steps starting from increasing understanding through socialization to the business world and society. About the Forms of the Worst Work for Children (BPTA).
"This continued roadmap is expected to contribute to the achievement of Indonesia Gold 2045 through a gradual reduction in the number of child workers, so that in the end Indonesia is free from child labor, especially in the BPTA situation," he explained.

Ida added that by combining the role of the government / regional government in the business world, trade unions or labor unions, civil society organizations, children observers and other stakeholders, this continued roadmap is expected to be a reference and guide for all stakeholders in the preparation of programs to accelerate the elimination of child labor and BPTA.
"The Advanced roadmap (roadmap) which was compiled since 2023 involves stakeholders from Ministries/Institutions, Workers' Unions/Labourers and Civil Society Organizations who pay attention to children," said Ida.
