Sri Mulyani Says Indonesia's Minerba Sector Is Getting Stronger

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati revealed that the mineral and coal (Minerba) sector in Indonesia has a vital position in the world's geopolitical constellation to battery raw materials.

"These mineral and coal items in Indonesia now have an extraordinary vital position in the world's geopolitical constellation. Energy transformation, electric transformation, transformation of batteries and these all put Indonesia in an extraordinary strategic position," he said at the Launching and Socialization of the Implementation of Nickel and Timah Commodities through Simbara, Monday, July 22.

Sri Mulyani said that if Indonesia is able and continues to strive to organize well, it will have a maximum impact and can provide the greatest benefit to the prosperity of the community.

Therefore, Sri Mulyani said, the Ministry/Institutional Coal and Mineral Information System (Simbara) was expanded from just before for coal commodities, now it is added to nickel and tin commodities.

Through Simbara, Sri Mulyani claims to be able to prevent illegal mining, encourage the entry of non-tax state revenues (PNBP), and force companies to pay their receivables.

"The benefits were to prevent illegal mining, additional PNBP, and even force companies to pay their receivables," he said.

Meanwhile, through the implementation of Simbara, it has provided revenue for state revenue of Rp7.1 trillion, consisting of prevention of illegal mining modes (unlicensed mining) of Rp3.47 trillion, additional state revenue from analytic data and risk profiling from business actors of Rp2.53 trillion, and settlement of receivables from the implementation of the automotic blocking system of Simbara Rp1.1 trillion.

With this system, Sri Mulyani said that the government can jointly enforce the compliance of entrepreneurs to carry out healthy mining business procedures, because there is an automatic blocking system (ABS) feature.

"This is a small example of the coordination time for enforcement and compliance carried out together with an automatic blocking system, so the state's authority is enforced. Entrepreneurs cannot then oh, if this ministry seems strong, we go to another ministry that can be lobbied. With this system we work neatly, consistently, decisively and authoritatively, without disturbing the company, because the company already knows their rights and obligations," he said.

Sri Mulyani said that from the beginning she had to go through 10 monitoring systems for the management of Ministries/Institutions, now it is only 1 system so that 50 documents can be coordinated in an integrated surveillance door.

"10 systems are implemented in 1 system, 50 documents are coordinated one door, integrated supervision, and enforcement to domestic policies such as DMO," said Sri Mulyani.
