Good News From Jakarta, Healing COVID-19 Patients Increased 1,879 People

JAKARTA - The number of patients recovering from exposure to COVID-19 in Jakarta increased by 1,897, bringing the total to 357,100 people, Sunday, March 21.

Reported by Antara, Based on data from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on the corona.jakarta.go.id page, with a total of 357,100 patients recovering, it has a percentage of 96.4 percent of the total cumulated number of positive cases of COVID-19 currently totaling 370,582 cases.

With the addition of 1,879 cured COVID-19 patients, the number of active cases who are still being treated or isolated has decreased by 258 from the previous number of 7,580 people to 7,322 people.

Meanwhile, there were 1,638 positive COVID-19 cases in Jakarta, which were the results of the PCR swab test on Saturday, March 20, on 12,689 specimens with 1,638 positive results and 8,483 negative results.

If compared to the last week, the addition of daily positive cases was 1,638 cases this Sunday, higher than Friday, March 19, 1,588 cases; Wednesday, March 17, 1,330 cases; Tuesday, March 16, 835 cases; Monday, March 15, 1,555 cases; and Sunday, March 14, 1,204 cases.

However, it was still lower than Saturday, March 20, 1,937 cases; Thursday, March 18, 1,719 cases, especially when compared to Sunday, March 7, 4,213 cases, which is the highest increase during the pandemic.

Of the total cumulated 370,582 COVID-19 cases this Sunday, 6,160 of them died or 1.7 percent of the total cumulated positive cases.

However, from the number of tests, DKI Jakarta recorded the percentage of positive cases based on the number of tests or the positivity rate for COVID-19 during the past week in Jakarta was still 12.7 percent.

This figure is very far above the percentage limit set by the World Health Organization (WHO) in a week for a region, no more than five percent to be categorized as a safe area.

So, the total percentage of positive cases in Jakarta since the start of the March 2020 pandemic is still 11.2 percent.
