JAKARTA - The Badung Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested the perpetrator of the premeditated murder named Matsari (44) which occurred on Saturday, March 20, at 16.00 WITA around the Muding Indah area, Badung Regency, Bali.

"The motive is that it is known that the perpetrator is jealous, because the victim, named Karmiadi, wants to invite the perpetrator's wife to have an intimate relationship", said Head of Public Relations of the Badung Police Iptu I Ketut Oka Bawa when contacted from Denpasar, Bali.

He said that this incident was a criminal act of premeditated murder because the perpetrator had prepared a sharp weapon to kill the victim. The evidence used by the perpetrator was in the form of a sickle that had been thrown by the perpetrator into the river.

The perpetrator was arrested on Saturday, March 20, at around 19.00 WITA, in the vicinity of Muding Indah, which is a junk shelter and close to the scene of the TKP (crime scene).

"The victim and the perpetrator did not know each other, but they were neighbors of the boarding house. However, the wife of the perpetrator, who was close to the victim, was suspected of having an intimate relationship between the victim and the perpetrator's wife, but we are still exploring that", he said.

The victim and the perpetrator both have families and live in the same boarding area. Oka said, from the statement of the perpetrator who felt jealous, because his wife wanted to have sex with him, so the perpetrator brought sickles from home and deliberately killed the victim at the scene of the crime.

"From the testimony of a witness named Yasin who was at the TKP, he explained that at around 15.30 WITA, he was near the river with his friend and saw the victim repairing the birdcage. Then, the perpetrator came and slashed the victim with sickles", he said.

The killings began by injuring the victim's head so that the victim fell on his knees and fell in the river. Seeing this condition, the perpetrator immediately threw sickles into the river.

For his actions, the perpetrator is subject to Article 340 of the Criminal Code with a death penalty or life sentence or a maximum of 20 years.
