BPBD Sukabumi Regency Evacuates Fire Victims In Palabuhanratu

SUKABUMI - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency displaced a family totaling five people who were victims of a fire in the fire in Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi Regency, West Java on Saturday.

"There were no casualties in the fire that hit Ciloahilir Village, Rt 008, RW 003, Parsirsuren Village. Only one family had to be evacuated because the house was razed to the ground," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Section of the Sukabumi Regency BPBD Medi Abdul Hakim in Sukabumi, Saturday.

According to information gathered from officers from the Palabuhanratu Region I Fire Post, the fire first emerged from the kitchen of Uloh's house. Residents who saw the incident rushed to extinguish the fire with makeshift tools, but the fire continued to grow.

Receiving a report of a fire incident in a densely populated settlement, the Palabuhanratu Region I Fire Station immediately deployed a car and nine firefighters to the scene.

The fire quickly spread all parts of the house inhabited by five people because the majority of houses were made of flammable materials such as wood. Luckily, the fire did not spread to other houses and was successfully extinguished about two hours later.

"Although there were no casualties, none of the valuables belonging to the occupants of the house were rescued. The fire survivors had been evacuated and given emergency assistance," said Wadanton of the Palabuhanratu Region I Fire Station, Aceng Ismail. It is suspected that the fire was triggered by an electrical short circuit. For the time being, all residents of the house were evacuated to the house of their closest relatives while waiting for help to repair their burning house.
