Mason Greenwood Has Arrived At Marseille To Complete Transfer
JAKARTA - Mason Greenwood is reported to have arrived at Marseille on July 17, 2024 local time to complete the transfer.
SunSport reported that Greenwood arrived in France on a private jet ordered by Marseille.
The plane took off from Manchester Airport at 20.22 British time and landed at Marseille at around 23.00 local time on July 17, 2024.
The arrival of the 22-year-old player to the south of France cannot be separated from the agreement with Manchester United.
Olympique de Marseille approved a payment of 27 million pounds plus 3.2 million pounds plus a resale clause of 50 percent for the midfielder.
Although the completion of the transfer is only a short time away, the rejection of Greenwood's presence at Marseille is still pouring in.

Supporters are still spreading the #GreenwoodNotWelcome campaign. In fact, the campaign was supported by the Mayor of Marseille, Benoit Payan, who publicly opposed the move.
Payan also plans to lobby Marseille's president, Pablo Longoria, to cancel the deal with Manchester United.
Meanwhile, in the midst of a wave of rejection, it turns out that there are still those who welcome Greenwood. When a 22-year-old player landed at Marseille Airport, he was greeted with a song called Greenwood.
Then, Roberto De Zerbi, new manager of Marseille, confirmed that he would defend Greenwood if he joined.
The Italian coach said that Greenwood is a player with a winning mentality. De Zerbi will protect the midfielder like a child.
As is known, the rejection of Greenwood cannot be separated from the player's case off the field.
Greenwood was suspended by Manchester United in January 2022 for allegedly raping, assaulting, and controlling and coercion against a woman.
He was charged nine months after being dropped from the first team of the Red Devils. Greenwood denied the charges.
In the end, all criminal charges were canceled in February 2023. Greenwood was able to return to play.
However, he no longer got a place in Erik ten Hag's squad. As a result, he was loaned to Getafe in the 2023/2024 season.
Together with La Liga club, Greenwood stole the show for his slick performance. He even won the La Liga Player of the Year award last season thanks to 33 appearances and eight goals.
His charming appearance at Getafe made a number of European clubs hunt for his services. However, only Marseille ended up serious about making offers.
