Minister Erick Thohir Wants To Have Majority Shares Of Persis Solo, Eh Is Overtaken By Kaesang
JAKARTA - BUMN Minister Erick Thohir officially bought a portion of PT Persis Solo Saestu's shares. However, Erick did not receive the majority share he expected in the purchase of the Persis Solo football club.
The new Pemilk Persis was announced after the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) of PT Persis Solo at the Alila Solo Hotel this morning at around 09.00 WIB.
In share ownership, the President's son, Kaesang Pangarep, owns 40 percent of the shares, then Mahenda Kevin Nugroho 30 percent, and Erick Thohir 20 percent.
In total there is a total of 90 percent of PT PSS shares being offered. While the remaining 10% is still for 26 internal clubs. In his position, Kaesang became the President Director of PT Persis Solo. Meanwhile, Erick became a Commissioner.
In his statement, Erick explained the reason he wanted to buy Persis Solo shares. He said, he just missed the world of football. "Miss the ball," said Erick in his statement, Saturday, March 20.
Then, Erick admitted that his role at Persis Solo wanted to improve management, regenerate and make the club better.
"Especially for Solo and Aga (Erick's son), Aga wants to follow in the footsteps of my father who started the struggle from Solo. Solo is my father's first city to fight apart from the family for school, “said the former owner of the Inter Milan club.
As previously reported, Erick has had an interest in becoming an investor in Persis Solo since some time ago. As a businessman, Erick sees Persis Solo as promising. He is ready to acquire the majority of the shares
"I do not want to be trapped in the legal process. So far, Persis supporters and owners are not in harmony. I am ready to enter when the situation is clean. What is certain is that if Erick Thohir wants to enter the majority, it may not be a minority," he explained.
