Secretly, US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken Likes Sundubu Jjigae Which Is Selling Well At Danbam Pub Drakor Itaewon Class
JAKARTA - United States Minister of Foreign Affairs (US Foreign Minister) Antony Blinken, has been secretly a fan of the typical South Korean culinary, sundubu jjigae.
This can be seen from the upload on his official Twitter account, on Thursday 18 March, the last day of his two-day visit to the State of Gingseng. In his upload, Minister Blinken said he still remembers the delicious sundubu jjigae, which he enjoyed during his 2016 visit.
"I remember how delicious Sundubu-jjigae tasted in 2016 on my last trip to Seoul. I am very happy to enjoy it again during this visit," tweeted Antony Blinken whose upload received more than 8 thousand likes.
It is known that Blinken, together with United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and the security delegation, made a visit to Asia. Prior to South Korea, the two of them visited Japan.
The visit to the two US Allied Forces, cannot be separated from the priority program of President Joe Biden's Administration, to strengthen relations with the two countries, as well as discuss the issues of North Korea and China.
According to Koreatimes, senior US officials such as former US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun often showed their love for Korean cuisine by visiting local traditional restaurants during their trips to Ginseng Country.
Sundubu jjigae is a Korean soup made with soft tofu as the main ingredient. This typical Korean food attracted attention, when appearing in the Korean drama (drakor) Itaewon Class, starring Park Seo-joon and Kim Da Mi as the main characters.
In this drama, Park Sae Ro Yi (Park Seo-joon) is told to build a small business in the Danbam area, South Korea. Well, one of the pub's mainstay menus is sundubu jjigae or spicy soft tofu stew, which makes the pub a successful development.
