Ghufron Candidates For KPK Leadership, Former Investigators Allude To Hanging Ethics Cases

JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Yudi Purnomo asked Pansel Capim and the KPK Supervisory Board to pay attention to the track records of the registrants. No exception the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, who registered as a candidate for leadership for the 2024-2029 period.

"Of course the Pansel (Capim and Council, ed) of the KPK must really pay attention to Ghufron's track record while at the KPK," Yudi told reporters in his statement, Monday, July 15.

Yudi explained that the alleged ethical violation that dragged Ghufron must be a concern. Moreover, this case was highlighted because he reported the KPK Supervisory Board to various agencies, including the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

"Once again, of course, if the administrative requirements concerned (perhaps, ed) have met the requirements," said the former employee.

"But now is it just an administrative requirement? Yes, of course, the committee was formed to select, meaning that the selection is not just an administrative one, of course it is more than that so as not to repeat the performance of the last pansel," he continued.

In addition, the Capim Pansel and the KPK Council were also asked to be proactive. "(Come, red) Dewas to see, find out both formally and informally how the ethical process is currently being carried out," said Yudi.

As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, registered as a candidate for leadership (capim). He is ready to advance in the period 2024-2029. "By saying bismillah, I registered to become a KPK candidate for the period 2024-2029," said Ghufron in a written statement to reporters, Monday, July 15. Ghufron did this registration in the midst of his unfinished ethical case. The KPK Supervisory Board has not read out the verdict because he is currently filing a lawsuit at the State Administrative Court (PTUN).

Ghufron is suspected of violating ethics because he is dealing with employee mutations at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). His claim was that assistance was given for a sense of humanity towards his friend's son-in-law who was hanged.
