Chairman Of Commission I Of The House Of Representatives Condemns The Shooting Incident Experienced By Donald Trump
JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Meutya Hafid, strongly condemns and strongly condemns the shooting incident that happened to former President of the United States (US) Donald Trump while delivering a campaign speech in Pennsylvania, United States, Saturday, July 13 local time.
"I strongly condemn and condemn the shooting of former US President and Republican candidate for US president Donald Trump," Meutya said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, July 14.
According to him, political violence that threatens democracy cannot be tolerated, whatever it takes.
"Political violence in any form has no place in the midst of our society. We must dare to fight any form of violence that threatens democracy," he said.
Meutya views that the shooting incident experienced by Trump can be a reflective moment to always appreciate differences of opinion in democracy.
This incident, he said, became a moment to remind all parties to continue to respect the democratic system and differences of opinion.
He also expressed his condolences for the unfortunate events experienced by Trump.
"We share our condolences and express our deep condolences to the victims, and hope that Donald Trump and other victims will recover soon," he said.
Earlier, gunfire appeared during Donald Trump's speech in Pennsylvania.
The former President of the United States immediately stopped his speech and left the stage in a bloody state of his ears, local media reported on Sunday.
Trump's speech before his supporters in Butler City on Saturday, July 13 local time only lasted a few minutes.

The United States Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI) revealed the identity of the perpetrator of the shooting of former US President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania State on Saturday local time.
"The FBI managed to identify Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the perpetrator involved in the assassination attempt against former US President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13," the FBI said in a statement on Sunday.
