Fire In Samarinda Kills One Person

The fire hit two buildings on Jalan Kenangan, Gang Kenangan 1B, RT 73, Sungai Pinang Dalam Village, Samarinda City, on Sunday (14/7) afternoon at around 15.00 WITA causing one person to die. According to the Head of the Samarinda City Disdamkar, East Kalimantan, Hendra AH, the fire was thought to have originated from mosquito medicine. The fire quickly grew and devoured two buildings, namely one single house and one six-door ward. "As many as 29 people from the 9 families who occupied the two buildings were successfully evacuated. However, one resident of the ward with the initials AM (22), could not be saved. He was found dead in the bathroom in a burning condition. The victim was taken to AW Sjahranie Hospital," he explained.

The fire extinguishing lasted for an hour involving nine fire truck tanks from Disdamkar Samarinda and PMK Private, as well as 20 volunteer portable machines. "The obstacles in the field faced are relatively narrow roads, limited water sources, and many residents are watching," said Hendra. Currently, the police are still investigating the exact cause of the fire.

The elements involved in the blackout other than the Samarinda City Disdamkar are the Samarinda City BPBD, the Emergency Medical Team-Info Taruna Samarinda Team, Command Center 112, PMI, Babinsa, bhabinkamtibmas, Sungai Pinang Police, Samarinda Police Traffic Unit, Samarinda PLN, Beat 110 Patrol, to Samarinda City Transportation Agency.
