Defeating Paolini, Tennis Player Of Krejcikova Wins Wimbledon 2024

JAKARTA - Czech Tennis Player Barbora Krejcikova beat Italian tennis player Jasmine Paolini.

For this victory, Krejcikova won the Wimbledon title, as well as his second title at the women's singles Grand Slam event.

Krejcikova won 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to add to the Grand Slam title from the All England Club 2024 after his victory at the French Open 2021.

Krejcikova arranged the rhythm by immediately breaking Paolini's serve in the opening game.

Paolini had to save two break points in the third game but he was under pressure again when the quiet Krejcikova double-break took a 4-1 lead.

Krejcikova made three sets of points in the eighth game and needed only one set of points when Paolini hit backhand on the net.

The tense Paolini was only able to claim four points from the Czech service. Krejcikova scored 10 winners compared to five winners from his opponent.

Paolini ran away from the Center Court to rest in the bathroom and came back excited.

He also lost his first set in his marathon win in the semi-finals over Donna Vekic, but he fought back in the second set.

Breaks in the second and eighth games equalized in the final after a set in which Krejcikova made 14 mistakes against seven for his opponent, and made his total double error to be the highest in the tournament, namely 33.

However, the momentum changed dramatically again in favor of Krejcikova in the determination set when Paolini made a double mistake so he gave up and fell 3-4 behind.

Krejcikova maintains a 5-3 lead but faces a tense end, requiring three points and saving two break points in the 10th game to ensure the title.

"I don't have any words. It's hard to believe what just happened. The best day of my tennis career -- and the best day of my life," Krejcikova said.

"It's very difficult to explain what I'm feeling right now," he continued.

The victory came 26 years after his mentor Jana Novotna, who died in 2017, claimed Wimbledon's title.

The result means that the seventh seed Paolini lost twice in a row in the Grand Slam final after losing to Iga Swiatek at the French Open last month.
