Basarnas Reports Survivors Of Gorontalo 280 Landslide, 26 People Died
The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) gathered the latest number of victims who survived the landslide incident in the people's gold mining area in East Tulabolo Village, East Suwawa, Bone Bolango, Gorontalo, as many as 280 people."So far, there are 280 survivors," said Basarnas Operations Director Edy Prakoso, who was contacted from Jakarta, Antara, Friday, July 12.According to him, of these there were 135 survivors but only reported to the main postal officer of the SAR operation on Thursday until noon today.Previously, data from the main post noted that as many as 85 survivors were successfully evacuated by joint SAR operations officers.The majority of them are miners and some of their family members who at the time of the landslide were in the vicinity of the mining area.Dozens of survivors have returned to their respective families since Wednesday after previously being confirmed healthy by health team officers at the main post of SAR operations or medical personnel from hospitals.In addition, the joint SAR team in the sixth day of operation also managed to find three more victims dead and have been evacuated using a Police helicopter. So that the total number of people who died became 26 people.Thus, there are still as many as 19 victims who have been missing in the search for a total of 325 victims of landslides who were officially registered at the main post of SAR operations, on Friday (12/7) or SAR operations on the sixth day.
"Tomorrow is the seventh day or the last day of the SAR operation. But Basarnas is ready to reopen and resume SAR operations until victims are evacuated during this emergency response period," said Edy, who is currently still in East Tulabolo Village.
