Considered Most Role, Minister Of Health Budi Gunadi And Minister Of Education And Culture Nadiem Makarim Appreciated By Sri Mulyani
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati conveyed that the Public Service Agency (BLU) as a government agency that prioritizes public services has an important role during the pandemic period.
Of all BLU segments under the auspices of the state, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani gave special appreciation to the Public Service Agency for the health and education category.
According to the Minister of Finance, the ability to carry out flexible business activities by highlighting productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness has made BLUs able to meet community needs quickly.
"For that I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to all Ministries of ministerial institutions, especially in this case the two ministers who have the biggest BLU, namely the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education and Culture," he said in a statement from the 2021 Public Service Agency Coordination Meeting, Friday, 19 March.
He added that these two Ministries are considered to have become an agency agency that can truly carry out its objectives in serving the community along with better governance and management.
"Health BLUs such as hospitals carry out treatment and care programs, as well as education on the prevention and control of COVID-19 to support the acceleration of the settlement of the pandemic," he said.
He noted that BLU for government-run hospitals is actually only 3.4 percent of the total hospitals in Indonesia. Although it has a relatively small percentage, it serves 13.6 percent of all patients in this country, with 80 percent of them entering the national health insurance scheme.
Meanwhile, education BLUs such as universities, polytechnics, high schools, or institutes, ensure that teaching and learning activities continue to run well amid a number of activity restrictions.
"The number of BLU 101 tertiary institutions and it is actually only 1.78 percent of all tertiary institutions in Indonesia. However, this small number, namely 1.78 percent of the total population of higher education institutions, educates one and a half million students or 18.9 percent of the total students of all tertiary institutions in Indonesia. That illustrates how big the role of BLU-BLU in the education and health sector, "he explained.
For this reason, the Minister of Finance hopes that all BLUs work together to provide the best public services that are affordable, available, and sustainable in supporting social safety net and infrastructure development in the context of accelerating national economic recovery. The synergy between BLUs is manifested in the form of efficient economic sharing in responding to economic pressures due to the pandemic.
“How important these BLUs are, which illustrates Indonesia's efforts to develop by focusing on equitable distribution of justice and services to the community, because the progress of a country is measured by the progress of its human resources. Even though it has such a noble and important mission, BLU must still be well managed, both from a financial and organizational side, "concluded the Minister of Finance.
