Ceremony August 17 At IKN, Minister Basuki Stops Development Starting August 10, 2024

JAKARTA - Part of the construction work in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) will be temporarily suspended on August 10, 2024 for the cleaning of the area for the opening ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2024.

"On August 10, all Paskibraka have moved there. That's why on August 10, I stopped all work, those who need mobility outside the patching plan immediately stopped, because I first cleaned the area," said Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Wednesday 10 July.

With this temporary suspension, the area used as a place of ceremony is expected to be clean of dust and dirt.

Even so, interior installation work will continue.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Palace and the offices of the Minister of the Economy consisting of four partially ready towers. Of the 47 towers for the residence of the National Civil Apparatus (ASN), 12 towers will be completed so that they can be used by ceremony participants.

"In addition, on July 15, the plan is that drinking water can go to IKN. Later on 19 (July) I will check there," said Basuki.

Facilities and infrastructure for the August 17 ceremony at IKN, said Basuki, are running according to the specified target.
