Pilkada 2024, Minister Of Home Affairs Akui Has Submitted DP4 To KPU
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has submitted data on the Potential Election Voter Population List (DP4) to the General Elections Commission (KPU).
This was conveyed by Tito at the Coordination Meeting for the Implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections in the Sumatra Region which was monitored online from Jakarta, Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
According to Tito, one of these data concerns the number of people aged 17 years during the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) on November 27, 2024.
"So this data will be different from the February 14 election because between February 14 and November 27 there are those who are 17 years old, have the right to vote, the second is what they are not members of the TNI/Polri," he explained.
In addition, said Tito, the data will then be validated by the KPU and its staff.
"That is the potential voter data that we have submitted, and this will be validated by the KPU ranks, whether there is a person or not, the person has moved or not, has died or not, and so on," he explained.
The Ministry of Home Affairs through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) including the Dukcapil Service also continues to move to reconcile DP4 data.
"When on November 27, we hope that those who have the right to vote do not lose their right to vote," said Tito.
Tito emphasized the importance of increasing voter participation in the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada. According to him, the higher voter participation, the legitimacy of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada results will be stronger.
For this reason, he encourages local governments (Pemda) to play a role in increasing voter participation.
In addition to increasing voter participation, the local government is also asked to help organizers, both in terms of budget and infrastructure, including warehouse and building needs.
