PSSI Asks Football People To Maintain Health And Work Effectively From Home
JAKARTA - Chairman of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan, emphasized several important things to minimize the transmission of the COVID-19 disease or the corona virus, which is currently widespread in Indonesia. PSSI will follow all directions given by the government, such as prioritizing health and effective work from home.
In general, Iriawan mentioned steps to maintain health for soccer players, from players, officials, match equipment to supporters.
“First, wash your clean hands with soap from between your fingers, palms and the backs of your hands. Wash your hands at least three times until they are completely clean. Your health is one of our forms of concern, ”said Iriawan as quoted from the official website of PSSI, Tuesday, March 24.
For this reason, PSSI supports the government's policy in temporarily stopping various activities related to crowds in public areas, including closing activities at the PSSI office at Senayan Sports Tower, Senayan, Jakarta.
In addition, according to letter number 1038 / UDN / 606 / III-2020 regarding the PSSI General Chair's Direction to PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Iriawan emphasized the temporary suspension of Shopee Liga 1 and Liga 2 competitions for an undetermined time limit.
In the letter it was stated that the revocation or termination of League 1 and League 2 would await further developments regarding the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia which would be conveyed directly by the PSSI General Chair.
Iriawan also underlined that football people can carry out President Jokowi's direction to work effectively from home.
"By working at home for a while, we limit physical interactions, as well as maintain social distance from our colleagues. We don't know whether the people around us may be carriers or carriers of this virus, "he said.
For this reason, said Iriawan, technological developments allow us to work at home, while minimizing and narrowing the space for the spread of the corona virus.
Working, studying and worshiping from home should also be balanced with exercising or doing various physical activities regularly, in order to maintain the stability of our physical condition so that we are not prone to disease.
Iriawan also expressed his gratitude for the enthusiasm of football lovers so far in supporting various PSSI activities.
In particular, the General Chairperson of PSSI gave his appreciation to the medical team who had worked hard at the national team, to prevent the spread of the corona virus to players and officials.
As is known, in a series of training camps (TC) in Bekasi, some time ago the Indonesian U-16 national team received knowledge about the corona virus, through the team doctor, Ifran Akhmad. Meanwhile, TC for U-19 national team and senior Indonesian national team which was planned to take place in mid-March were decided to be postponed.
"Hopefully the corona virus outbreak in this beloved country will end soon. Indonesia is strong, Indonesia can, PSSI Jaya! " concluded Iriawan.
