KPK Immediately Check Data On 17 Employees Involved In Online Gambling After Receiving Task Force Reports
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata has received data on employees involved in online gambling (judol). Direct checks were carried out and the results showed that out of 17 people, only eight were involved.
"Regarding online gambling, yes, it is true that the leadership has received a report from the task force," said Alexander Marwata to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 9.
"There are 17 employees, but after looking at the employee data, it turns out that only eight have the status of KPK employees, yes, eight people (involved, ed.) the nine who have been checked in the personnel department are not KPK employees," he continued.
The eight people are currently being followed up by the Inspectorate. "The leadership has ordered clarification to employees who still have the status of KPK employees," said Alexander.
Meanwhile, the other nine are said to have been dismissed. Among them are entangled in internal cases such as pawning gold from confiscated evidence to extortion.
Previously reported, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) said that data on Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employees suspected of playing online gambling had been submitted to the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto as the Head of the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force.
This was conveyed by the Head of PPATK Ivan Yustiavandana when confirmed about the findings of anti-corruption commission employees who were caught playing online gambling. He said that all the existing data had been submitted to the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force.
"We have submitted all the data to the Head of the Task Force," Ivan told reporters quoted on Tuesday, July 9.
Ivan then said that this data would then be submitted to the relevant institution. "The Head of the Task Force will submit it," he said.
