Immigration Depasar Deportation Of Russian Citizens With Mental Disorders

DENPASAR - Denpasar Immigration Office, Bali deported a foreign national (WNA) from Russia who had mental problems and violated a residence permit for more than 60 days.

"His residence permit has ended on February 20, 2024," said Head of the Denpasar Immigration Office Ridha Sah Putra, Tuesday, July 9.

He explained that the Denpasar Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement team received information from Sanglah Hospital regarding the existence of a foreigner from Russia with the initials AT who had mental and mental problems.

Immigration then coordinated with the hospital for the repatriation process to their home country.

The Russian citizen was then taken to the Denpasar Immigration Office for data while on the Island of the Gods.

The 40-year-old man is known to have entered Indonesian territory through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on December 20, 2023 using a visit visa upon arrival (Visa on Arrival / VoA).

He was then deported through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to Istanbul, Turkey and continued his flight to Johanessburg, South Africa.

"We continue to monitor and supervise foreigners who live and work in Indonesia, especially Bali," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

Based on data from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali Province, from January to June 7, 2024, 135 foreigners have been deported from Bali from 41 countries.

Of that number, the 10 most deported countries came from Australia (18), then Russia (17 people), the United States (14 people), Britain (8 people), Iran (6 people), Tanzania (6 people), then Ukraine, Japan, and Germany, five each, and Italy 4 people.

The violations committed by foreigners include exceeding the period of stay, ex-convicts, traditional violations, and disobeying statutory regulations.

Meanwhile, during 2023, 340 foreigners were deported or increased compared to 2022 which reached 188 foreigners expelled from Bali.
