AC/DC's Back In Black Album Gets Certification 26 Times Platinum

JAKARTA - It is undeniable that AC/DC is one of the best rock bands with massive listeners. The band is still running for almost 50 years by producing 18 studio albums and many hit songs.

A new record was also recorded on behalf of A/DC. The American Recording Industry Association (RIAA) gave a certificate for the album 'Back In Black' (1980) which has sold 26 million copies on July 8 yesterday.

"Back In Black" first went platinum in October 1980 and was previously certified platinum 25 times in December 2019. At that time, RIAA recorded "Back In Black" as the fourth best-selling album of all time.

Several other AC/DC albums and singles were also certified by RIAA. Here's the full list. AC/DC album with a new certificate from RIAA:

For information, 'Back In Black' was AC/DC's first album without vocalist Bon Scott who died a few months earlier. He fainted and choked on his own vomit after drinking alcohol throughout the night.

Later, Brian Johnson from the band GEORGE was appointed to replace Scott, and they headed to the Bahamas for about six weeks to work on the album.

In 2012, "Back In Black" was also added to the collection of the legendary Grammy Hall Of Fame The Recording Academy.
