PWI Appreciates North Sumatra Police In The Case Of Burning Journalists' Houses In Karo
JAKARTA - The General Chairperson of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun, expressed his appreciation to the North Sumatra Regional Police for the quick steps in uncovering the case of burning the house of journalist Rico Perfect Pasaribu in Kabanjahe, Karo Regency, which caused casualties. Hendry hopes that with the disclosure of this case, the North Sumatra Police can also resolve a similar case that befell PWI members in Labuhanbatu Regency.
"The task of the North Sumatra Police has not been completed because there is still one more homework to reveal the case of burning the house of a PWI member in Labuhanbatu Regency," said Hendry Ch Bangun at the Central PWI Office, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 8.
The Central PWI also appreciated the quick response of the Chairman of the North Sumatra PWI, H. Farianda Putra Sinik, in this case, who helped the North Sumatra Police Chief immediately arrest the alleged perpetrator.
Separately, Farianda Putra Sinik also expressed his appreciation to the North Sumatra Police for the arrest of four suspected perpetrators of the burning of a journalist's house in Karo Regency. He believes the police are able to reveal the motive behind the action.
"PWI North Sumatra expresses its appreciation to the North Sumatra Regional Police for successfully securing the alleged perpetrators of the burning of a journalist's house in Karo Regency. We believe the police are able to reveal the motives of the perpetrators," said Farianda.
Farianda also emphasized the importance of disclosing the case of burning a journalist's house in Labuhanbatu Regency which occurred on March 23, 2024. "There is one more homework so that the North Sumatra Police will also uncover the case," he added.
"We are still waiting for the seriousness of the North Sumatra Police to uncover the case of burning a journalist's house in Labuhanbatu, after successfully arresting the alleged perpetrator of the burning of a journalist's house in Tanah Karo which caused four casualties," said Farianda. He hopes that the police can provide a sense of justice to the victim and his family.
Previously, the North Sumatra Police arrested four suspected perpetrators of the burning of a journalist's house in Tanah Karo. Currently, the police are continuing to investigate and the suspects are still being investigated.
PWI Pusat and PWI North Sumatra, apart from providing legal assistance, are also coordinating donations to help the families of victims of the burning of the Rico Perfect Pasaribu journalist's house in Tanah Karo and Junaidi Marpaung's house in Labuhanbatu Regency.
