Bali Police Are Still Investigating Allegations Of 10 Members Of The Klungkung Aniaya Police, Residents

DENPASAR - The Professional and Security Division (Propam) of the Bali Regional Police is still investigating reports of alleged abuse by 10 members of the Klungkung Police against a resident of I Wayan Suparta (47) when revealing a case of car embezzlement in the area.

The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, said that if it was proven that there were allegations of abuse and acts of violence committed by the 10 members, it would certainly be processed according to the rules.

"This problem is still in progress and if it is proven that there are unprofessional members in the series of processes for disclosing cases of alleged theft networks, a process will definitely be carried out in accordance with applicable legal provisions," said Jansen.

According to him, the statement was conveyed by the Bali Police in response to the statement of IWS (I Wayan Suparta) who reported an alleged act of violence by Klungkung Police personnel against him, resulting in an injury to the eardrum.

The IWS report has been received by the Bali Police through LP/B/403/V/2023/SPKT/Bali Police dated May 29, 2024, regarding the alleged occurrence of a criminal act of persecution as referred to in Article 352 of the Criminal Code.

The victim's report began when the Klungkung Police Satreskrim officers uncovered allegations of a network of theft and/or embezzlement of 30 cars suspected of being fraudulent and two fake STNK makers, in May 2024.

In the disclosure, IWS was included in the deepening activity and there were five cars that were also found and secured from the house concerned.

However, during the interrogation process, said Jansen, there may have been treatment that was not in accordance with the procedure for IWS, until IWS admitted to being held captive and getting violence and experiencing permanent defects to his left ear.

"The Bali Police have taken action by examining the reporter IWS, witnesses, collecting evidence and asking for information from the doctor who handles IWS, as well as examining the visum et repertum letter, including visiting the TKP," he said.

The IWS report is still being handled by the Bali Police Propam, while related to the alleged theft network and/or embezzlement of motorized vehicles, further development and investigation are still being carried out by the Klungkung Police.

The Bali Police also asked the public to oversee the case.
