West Jakarta PSI Proposes 6 Names Of Cagub-Cawagub DKI Jakarta, There Are Ahok To Deddy Corbuzier
JAKARTA - The West Jakarta PSI Regional Leadership Council (DPD) proposed 6 names of candidates for the Governor of DKI Jakarta to be promoted in the 2024 Pilkada. This was stipulated in a plenary meeting of administrators from the city to sub-district levels in West Jakarta.
Some of the proposed names include party leaders, namely PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep and PSI Board of Trustees Deputy Chair Grace Natalie.
Other names proposed are Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, former Governor of DKI Jakarta who is now Chairman of the DPP PDIP Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), and celebrity Deddy Corbuzier.
Acting Chairman of the West Jakarta PSI DPD William Aditya Sarana said the proposal for these 6 names would be submitted to the PSI Jakarta Regional Leadership Council (DPW) for further consideration.
"This selection process is very important to ensure that PSI Jakarta can carry candidates who have clear integrity, competence, and vision to advance Jakarta," William said in his statement, Monday, July 8.
The chairman of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD explained that the names proposed by the West Jakarta PSI management were also the result of constituent aspirations in his area.
This regional plenary session also involves various elements of society. PSI certainly always listens to the aspirations of the community, so it is hoped that it will be in accordance with what is needed by the community.
"We have involved various elements of society, especially in West Jakarta and listened to their aspirations to ensure that the recommended candidates are the best and most appropriate to lead Jakarta in the future," William explained.
Furthermore, William claims that his party does not want to carry the name of a candidate for leader who is not in line with the party's vision and criteria. The recommended candidates must be said to meet the criteria set by PSI, namely having good integrity, competence, and track record.
"We are looking for leaders who are not only able to manage this city well, but also have sides with the people and commitments to human development in Jakarta," he said.
Apart from West Jakarta, the Central Jakarta PSI DPD also proposed 6 candidates who could be promoted in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada.
The chairman of the Central Jakarta PSI DPD, Hervin Afriansya, said that the six names were formulated from the results of the plenary session. The aspirations of the constituents were also accommodated in the trial.
"We have involved various elements of society, especially in Central Jakarta and listened to their aspirations to ensure that the recommended candidates are the best and most appropriate to lead Jakarta in the future," Hervin said in his statement, Sunday, July 7.
The six names of the DKI Jakarta cagub proposed by the DKI Jakarta PSI DPD are PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono, then former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.
Then, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, former member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD for the 2014-2019 period Fajar Sidik, and Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Prasetyo Edi Marsudi.
Previously, the DKI Jakarta PSI DPW said there would be a surprise in August 2024 regarding the name of the candidate for the Governor of DKI to take part in the Simultaneous 2024 Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub).

"Candidates are of course still very dynamic, as stated by the chairman, Mas Kaesang in many meetings, namely waiting for the surprise in August," said Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PSI DPW Elva Farhi Qolbina during a visit to the NasDem State Defense Academy (ABN) building, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 25.
Elva explained that his party is still attracting potential parties to be able to solve DKI Jakarta problems such as congestion issues, waste emergency in Jakarta and community welfare problems, especially the problem of social assistance (bansos) that is not on target.
"This means that there must be more concrete synergies and collaborations later at the legislative level," he said.
