JAKARTA - The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini (Risma) suddenly became a motivator while attending a public lecture at the Social Welfare Polytechnic Campus (Poltekesos), Bandung, West Java, Thursday, March 18. He mentioned that nothing is impossible in this life.
"In life there is nothing impossible, whether there is willing or unwilling. So if you have aspirations and ideals, never give up," said Social Minister Risma in a lecture on the theme of 'Policies of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in Preparing Prospective Social Workers in the Future. , 'quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 18.
Apart from providing motivation, Risma also challenged students to solve social problems in Indonesia.
"You students must go to the field to see first hand the existing social problems and then find a solution," said Social Minister Risma as quoted by Antara.
The challenges that exist must be able to be answered by all the Bandung Poltekesos academic community. From an early age, continued Risma, students must be taught to be directly involved in the field because it is more useful. Furthermore, the Minister of Social Affairs said that he strongly agreed with the concept of an Independent Campus which was promoted by the Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim.
"Yesterday I met with the Minister of Education and Culture, we had a chance to discuss the Merdeka Campus, I think it's a good concept that can also be applied in this campus," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
Therefore, various policies need to be outlined, especially with the development of higher education institutions to produce reliable, competent and professional social worker candidates.
