President Jokowi Inaugurates The Infrastructure Project In Jusuf Kalla Village, 2,500 Personnel Deployed

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited the Province of South Sulawesi, Thursday, March 18. On that occasion, Jokowi will inaugurate an infrastructure project in the province of the birth of Jusuf Kalla, his running mate (Vice President) in the last administration period.

Approximately 2,500 joint personnel were deployed to secure Jokowi's visit.

"Thousands of joint personnel consisting of the ranks of the TNI, police, and local government were deployed to guard the RI-1 presence", said Kodim 1408/BS Commander Colonel Kav Dwi Irbaya Sandra representing the XIV/Hasanuddin Military Commander Major General Andi Sumangerukka, in Makassar reported by Antara.

He said all security elements were deployed to ensure that there were no crowds at the location of the President's visit and that activities would run smoothly and safely.

By Jokowi's visit schedule in South Sulawesi today, namely inaugurating several strategic projects and reviewing vaccinations in Makassar and Tana Toraja. The first visit was made to Tana Toraja to inaugurate the Buntu Kunik Airfield and see the vaccination implementation.

Furthermore, to Makassar City by plane and continue the journey to inaugurate the Nipa-Nipa Regulatory Reservoir in Maros-Gowa Regency, including the President, is scheduled to attend the Makassar Vaccination Festival.

According to Dwi Irbaya, all personnel has been stationed at several points with security divided for ring 1 and 2 elements of the TNI, ring 3 elements of the police, and the rest supported by the Forkopimda element.

In this regard, it is hoped that all security personnel can work together and work optimally with a full sense of responsibility, including optimizing the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol in the field.
