Residents Of Sepaku, East Kalimantan Affected By IKN Development, PUPR Builds Houses In Lieu

JAKARTA - The Australian Capital Authority (OIKN) said the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) was carrying out house construction for residents of Sepaku Subdistrict, North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU) of East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) affected by the construction of the Nusantara City. The Deputy for Social Culture and Community Empowerment, OIKN Alimuddin, said the PUPR Ministry had already prepared a plan to build landed houses and flats (rusun) for the relocation of residents affected by the development of the Nusantara City. OIKN together with the Provincial Government (Pemprov) East Kalimantan and the Regency Government (Pemkab) PPU first carried out socialization regarding the plan to relocate residents affected by the development of the capital city. "Residents can choose, if residents are not used to living in flats, they can choose landed houses," he explained.

"We will find the right time to socialize directly to meet residents, of course the City of Nusantara is present for the welfare of the community," he added. Residents affected by the construction of the Sepaku River flood control in Sepaku Village, Sepaku District, Sepaku District, were also given the choice of relocation to the landed house or flat built by the Ministry of PUPR. "So residents affected by the development of the Nusantara City and those living in flood-prone areas in Sepaku District will be relocated by the central government," he said.
