A Total Of 8 Countries Qualify For The Quarter-finals Of The 2024 Copa America

JAKARTA The 2024 Copa America group stage has been completed. A total of eight countries have also received tickets to the quarter-finals.

This tournament was attended by 16 countries divided into four groups containing four teams each. The two best teams from each group will qualify for the last eight.

Brazil is the last team to enter the knockout stages. The Samba team qualified after a 1-1 draw against Colombia in the final Group D match, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, morning WIB.

From the group, Colombia has the right to win the group. They collected seven points or two points ahead of Brazil who finished second in the final standings with five points.

In the next round, Colombia will face Panama, who is the runner-up in Group C. Meanwhile, Brazil must meet Uruguay who is the winner of Group C.

The other four teams that made it to the quarter-finals were Argentina, Canada, Venezuela, and Ecuador. Argentina and Canada are winners and runners-up in Group A. Then, Venezuela and Ecuador became representatives of Group B.

Argentina and Venezuela qualified for the knockout round thanks to their perfect performance in the group round. They managed to get maximum points from the three matches they played, just like Uruguay.

As winners of Group A, Argentina will next meet Ecuador, runners-up in Group B. Meanwhile, Venezuela, who won Group B, will next meet Canada, which is the runner-up in Group A.

The Copa America 2024 quarter-final match will start on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 08.00 WIB, to July 7, 2024. The first quarter-final match is opened by the Argentine versus Ecuador.
