Grieving Over The Brutal Shooting Incident At A US Massage Parlor, Former Pornhub Star Mia Khalifa Shares This On Instagram
JAKARTA - Former Pornhub star Mia Khalifa mourns the brutal shooting at a massage parlor in the United States that killed eight people.
Police said the shooting took place at a massage parlor in Acworth, a northern suburb of Atlanta, Georgia and two spas in the city. The victims in the incident were mostly women of Asian descent.
Former Pornhub star Mia Khalifa was born in Lebanon despite being an American citizen. She shared two screenshots from comedian Jenny Yang's Twitter post regarding the gruesome bloodshed.
One of them read: "To all the media. Tell it what it is. 8 Asian women were killed in mass shootings of hate crimes by white terrorists."
The first shooting took place at around 5pm local time on Tuesday at the Youngs Asian Massage Parlor in Acworth, Cherokee District.
Two people died at the scene and three were taken to hospital, where two others died. The victims were two Asian women, a white woman and a white man, and an injured Hispanic man.
There was another shooting an hour later at the Gold Spa in Atlanta, in which three women were killed, and officers were then summoned to a spa across the street, called the Aromatherapy Spa, where they found another woman shot dead.
The four Atlanta victims were said to be Asian women. Police said a 21-year-old man had been arrested and was considered a suspect in the shooting. No motive has yet been set.
Authorities said it was too early to know whether the victims were targeted because of their race or ethnicity, but the Stop AAPI Hate (Asian American and Pacific Islander) group called it an "unspeakable tragedy".
"Right now there is a lot of fear and suffering in the Asian-American community that has to be overcome," they chirped.
Racial crimes against Asian-Americans have increased in recent months, fueled by rhetoric that blames them for the spread of COVID-19. As we all know, the pandemic originated in China.
Last week, President Joe Biden condemned hate crimes against Asian-Americans who were attacked, abused, blamed and scapegoated.
