Entering the ARTJOG Kids room at the Jogja National Museum (JNM), we feel like we are in the world of children's imagination. Imagination of young children is still wild and interesting to be understood. Here, the works of 36 child artists are displayed in the hands of 36 child artists who participated in the 2024 ARTJOG exhibition.

This painting entitled 'Alienation' is one of the works that attract the attention of visitors. This painting with alien and future robots is the work of a small painter from Jakarta named Danang Farshad Allianto.

Danang Farshad features two aesthetic and unique doodle art-style paintings. The exhibition is Danang's participation in the ARTJOG event for the first time. In accordance with the theme of the exhibition Motif: Prediction', the two 11-year-old works illustrate hopes and shadows about the future.

The painting Danang Farshad entitled 'Alienation' is plastered in the corner of the room in a canvas measuring 40x30 cm. Although it is fairly small in size, this painting is able to attract visitors' curiosity. Visitors can see visitors changing to observe this colorful doodle art painting.

When he saw the painting 'Alienation' by Danang, he could see how his imagination was playing depicting alien and robotic forms. This little artist presents the form of a group of green aliens with black eyes and lonjong heads.

Danang also paints various kinds of robots among a group of Aliens. The picture of the robots in his painting also looks unique because they have various shapes. There are robots with green eyes, many foot robots, head-butted robots and big mouths, and others.

But it's not just a picture of aliens and robots alone, there's another attraction from this painting. If you look more carefully, there is the inscription 'ALIEN IS TAKE OVER' on the top of the painting. There is a separate message that Danang put in his painting.

Aliens and robots are familiar with the topic of conversation when imagining the future. It turned out that Danang had imagination about it and then he put it in his painting. There is an interesting story that Danang wants to tell in a painting entitled 'Alienation'.

"I made a reaction story about why on now that AI is advancing rapidly," said Danang when asked about why he made the painting.

The robot in the painting Danang turns out to be more than just a character or form of a robot that is familiar in the world of children. Even though he is still a child, Danang has observed how technology or artificial intelligence is developing very rapidly.

From the title 'Alienation' and the phrase 'Alian is take over', this painting reveals how Danang is worried about the world in the future. Danang describes a group of aliens descending to earth and taking control of the planet.

Danang described the aliens fighting with robots and causing chaos. As the title means, troughness', that's how Danang would live in human life if the events above happened.

It looks like not only robots, even aliens could come to earth. I imagine, maybe these aliens will take over the earth, they can build life here. If in the future there will be lots of aliens, then they fight with the robots, what do you think will happen? Then where do you think, humans will go? ", wrote Danang in his painting description.

The first child of Danu Alrianto and Ratu Masyita Rakhmaulina have been fond of painting since grade 3 at elementary school. When asked, Danang said he was sparked to scribble because he often watched videos on YouTube showing drawing activities.

At first, Danang did not paint directly in the canvas medium. This 5th grade student who attended the Madina Islamic School started the habit of drawing on paper first. Along with his activities in drawing, Danang then tried other mediums to channel his creativity.

"Starting to draw on paper, then drawing on a wooden toy, digital art, just the canvas," said Danu Alrianto, Danang's father.

Danang also often draws at school when there is free time. Based on the stories of his parents and teachers, Danang prefers to enjoy school rest time by drawing fun rather than playing out like other children.

"Danang also likes to draw when at school. Usually during rest hours, Danang chooses to draw and does look engrossed in his activities," said Miss Bayu, a teacher at Madina Islamic School.

Danang's fans in drawing finally resulted in achievements by passing the 2024 ARTJOG event. When there was an announcement of the opening of the selection of works for this event, Danang sent three of his works. Two of Danang's works were declared qualified. In addition to 'Alienation', the other painting that escaped was entitled Daily' about marine biota in Papua.

The creation of an 'Alienation' painting cannot be separated from Danang's interest in the world of science and technology. Danang likes science and IT things. This was revealed by Danang when asked about his activities other than going to school and drawing.

Danang has participated in science competitions several times, even at the international level. Outside of school, Danang also attends coding classes for children. So it's no surprise that Danang has started to be aware of technological developments even though he is only 11 years old.

Those are the facts and stories behind the painting 'Alienation' by Danang Farshad Allianto. The painting about robots and aliens in the future has succeeded in bringing this child artist through the 2024 ARTJOG curation to participate in the exhibition. Danang's work can be seen at JNM until September 1, the last day of closing the event.
