On April 1, 2021, There Is A Test Using GeNose C19 At The Airport, But Not At Soekarno Hatta
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation will start testing the use of GeNose C19 in the air transportation sector starting April 2021. Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said several airports will be test sites for using GeNose.
"On April 1, we will start using GeNose in the air sector. And it will be done gradually, the first time we do it at four airports, not at Soekarno Hatta Airport", Budi said in a joint working meeting with Commission V DPR, Tuesday 16 March.
Budi explained the use of GeNose C19 in the air transportation sector will begin in stages at four airports. Among them, according to Budi, Kualanamu Airport in Medan, Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, Yogyakarta International Airport, and Juanda International Airport in Surabaya.
Furthermore, it will slowly be implemented at other airports. And the plan, said Budi, will be available at all airports in Indonesia starting May 1, 2021.
Also, Budi will plan GeNose to be available entirely in 44 train stations in Indonesia. Currently, 14 train stations are using GeNose.
GeNose C19 is an invention of the nation's children to launch the COVID-19 testing and tracing program. According to Budi, the GeNose C19 was chosen because it has a relatively low cost, and is affordable in the community.
"Considering that the cost of PCR and antigen is quite burdensome, the government together with several operators have encouraged the discovery of the nation, namely GeNose C19. This is relatively cheaper and affordable", he said.
Previously, the government through the Ministry of Transportation had only implemented GeNose C19 in the rail transportation sector. So far, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has increased the number of stations that provide testing or testing for COVID-19 using GeNose C19.
In total 14 stations are serving GeNose C19 inspection. The tariff for conducting an inspection using GeNose is IDR 20,000.
